1. Somerset Art Works (Open Studio)

What’s it all about: Somerset Art Works is a registered charity and membership organisation. Somerset’s only countywide agency dedicated to developing the visual arts. Part of the Arts Council England’s National Portfolio of funded organisations for 2018-2022. They want Somerset to be a place where people expect to engage with excellent visual art that is surprising and distinctive. To create an atmosphere of adventure and experimentation that inspires artists to produce and present new work and for audiences to experience it firsthand. They initiate a wide range of projects in a variety of settings, working in partnership with other arts and non-arts organisations, supporting the artists who enrich our lives and always integrating artists’ professional development. SAW work to increase public engagement, weaving together communities and raising the profile of the vibrant contemporary visual, digital and applied arts scene in Somerset..

5. Edinburgh Arts Festival 2020

Dates: 30th July to 30th August 2020
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland (various)

What’s it all about: Founded in 2004, Edinburgh Art Festival is the platform for the visual arts at the heart of Edinburgh’s August festivals, bringing together the capital’s leading galleries, museums and artist-run spaces in a city-wide celebration of the very best in visual art. Each year, the Festival features leading international and UK artists alongside the best emerging talent, major survey exhibitions of historic figures, and a special programme of newly commissioned artworks that respond to public and historic sites in the city.
