Introducing Emma de Polnay…

Emma is well known for her dynamic figurative work. Her mixed-media paintings, both figures and abstracts, are inspired by the natural and mythical worlds, and by her passion for contemporary dance. Emma’s signature style is created with high-speed mark-making on premium watercolour paper or canvas, using everything from gilding wax and recycled collage to cold tea. A majority of her original artworks are now also available as limited edition giclee prints on UK made, 100% cotton Somerset Velvet paper. Emma then signs, embosses, numbers and hand-finishes her prints with iridescent and metallic inks and mediums. Scroll down for more detail on Emma’s various collections and examples of how her work provides amazing bedroom wall art, kitchen wall art, wall art for living room, dining room wall art, and wall art for the bathroom.

Liberty Series | Wall Art For Living Room

We’ve shown Emma’s gorgeous ‘Liberty’ series here in a selection of living room spaces. Just like the kitchen, this is a space where you really want to get the artwork right. We all spend considerable time in our sitting rooms - especially in these pandemic years - so we really encourage our residential clients to choose art that offers long-term interest. Blue Leopard’s criteria for partnering with artists is loosely based on satisfying three main areas: use of colour, genuine drawing ability, and the power to show subjects in an innovative way. Emma’s work responds so strongly to all three.

Love Series | Kitchen Wall Art

The traditional function of the kitchen was room to prepare and cook food in. Nowadays, we have seen a shift in the role of the kitchen in people’s homes becoming a cross between living, dining, and a place for cooking. So many kitchens have now merged with living room spaces to make way for open plan, comfortable living. With people spending the majority of their home time in these multi-functional spaces, getting the art and framing right is really important. Emma’s Love series is the perfect serving of positivity for a space of this kind that needs kitchen wall art.
