An Introduction to Gordon Hunt | Landscape Art
Gordon works from his studio in Fowey, Cornwall, creating vibrant seascape paintings which are very popular with collectors around the world. Cornwall, and Fowey in particular, are a constant source of inspiration for his work. He paints the light effects of sunshine and water, giving sparkling reflections and silhouettes, resulting in strong contrasting colours and dynamic shapes. Flashes of contrasting colours resonate through the pictures, when placed together this contrast generates visual energy and excitement. His work evokes a real feeling of sunshine, holidays and well being. This year he has been painting in the theme of ‘wild swim’ - open water water swimming, which in Cornwall means ‘turquoise’ is the colour.

Gordon’s work is incredibly popular in the UK and he has also exhibited in New York and Hong Kong. He appeared on the ‘Landscape Artist’ TV programme and in 2019 had a piece in the prestigious Royal Society Marine Artists annual exhibition. A further piece of Gordon’s work has been accepted for the RSMA’s 2020 exhibition which runs from 30th September to 10th October 2020.
