…and we are SO happy to be working with her. She completed a BA in Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University between 2017 and 2020 during which time she found her passion for texture and deep love for colour. She works intuitively and is never afraid to experiment with different materials. Experimentation excites her. In her practice it’s all about the process, layers and the texture, creating depth in each layer. Katie uses a combination of tools in her process whilst using oil paints to bring out the vibrancy of the colours. Her work is her alter-ego: the part of her which is hidden to most but, in the comfort of her art studio, finds the freedom to express itself in bold, energetic and passionate ways. In this space she is never ‘too much' or 'not enough.' Katie always admired artists such as Frank Bowling, Mark Bradford and Mark Rothko for their use of colour and experimentation: it fascinates her how they push the possibilities of paint in their work..
