Zoe Moss | Contemporary Art
Zoë is a born and bred Londoner. Predominantly a realist oil painter, she has exhibited in galleries such as the Royal Academy, Cork Street and Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, amongst others. Her third solo show, in 2017, saw her drawings and contemporary art paintings of famous icons and superheroes juxtaposed playfully with everyday items and events. Most recently, she organised and curated the group show ‘Poppin’ which was a great success. She is currently organising the second contemporary art show of this nature.
Most recent contemporary art
After her parents passed away quite recently, her contemporary art work, whilst retaining its satirical pop art narrative and style, has focused on incorporating their memory and creativity into all subsequent works. After creating photo-realist oil paintings of film icons and ‘messing with the surface’, Moss has recently started her latest series of paintings of art collections whilst inserting her own painting within the image. This is done to reflect her frustration with both the art world and fact she can no longer show her parents her work. At the same time Moss uses humour and an element of surrealist satire to deliver her message.
