Always driven by curiosity, she reconfigures domestic objects to question our relationship with the world. Using transformation, playfulness and storytelling, she engages with important issues of our time, be it violence, ecology or human rights.

#2 Whistler’s Woman in White: Joanna Hiffernan

Location: Royal Academy, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BD

Dates: 26th February until 22nd May 2022

Description: Joanna Hiffernan’s relationship with Whistler ran deeper than artist and muse. In this rich exhibition the RA explores her life and role as a friend, model, lover and collaborator. Her close professional and personal relationship with the artist lasted for two decades, yet little about her role or influence in his life has been explored – until now.

#3 Beatrix Potter: Drawn To Nature | Art Exhibitions London

Location: Victoria & Albert Museum, Cromwell Rd, London SW7 2RL

Dates: On now until Sunday 8th January 2023

Description: This family friendly exhibition takes visitors on a journey to discover Potter's life as a scientist and conservationist and explores the places and animals that inspired her most beloved characters. In collaboration with the National Trust.

#4: Dappled Light by Rana Begum | Art Exhibitions London

Location: Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, Mattock Ln, London W5 5EQ

Dates: 25th March to September 2022

Description: Pitzhanger presents a solo exhibition of work by artist Rana Begum RA, with striking works which explore the perception of light, colour and form and blur the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, design and painting. Dappled Light sets up a dynamic dialogue with John Soane’s design of Pitzhanger as the works respond to the Manor’s architecture, sightlines, and intricate interior decorative schemes. Several works are displayed beyond the Gallery around the Manor, responding strikingly to its spaces.

#5: A Century of the Artist’s Studio: 1920–2020 | ART EXHIBITIONS LONDON

 

It is the artist’s studio where the great art of our time is conceived and created.

Dates: 24th February until 5th June 2022

Description: Ever wonder where artists make the magic happen? The new multi-media show at the Whitechapel Gallery is the result of a 100-year survey of international artists and the spaces they use to let their creative juices flow. Look out for pieces from icons including Francis Bacon, Louise Bourgeois, Pablo Picasso, Egon Schiele and Andy Warhol, and more contemporary artists such as Walead Beshty, Lisa Brice and Kerry James Marshall, plus photos and recreations of studios in all their messy glory.
